Merit Badges

You can learn about sports, crafts, science, trades, business, and future careers as you earn merit badges. There are more than 135 merit badges, and any Scout may earn any of these at any time.

We want to remind Scouts of our Troop's merit badge process to contact the Troop's Merit Badge Coordinator(s) when they wish to begin working on a Merit Badge. You may email Mr. Faunce who can issue a Blue Card with the steps to follow.

For a listing of upcoming Merit Badge opportunities, please visit the Troop 143 website or the Atlanta Area Council website. Merit Badge opportunities change frequently, so please check often.

The Atlanta Area Council is now offering in-person and online merit badge opportunities. These merit badge opportunities are posted on the AAC Facebook page. Please add this Facebook group to your notifications as the Atlanta Council posts other Scouting opportunities as well, including virtual camp outs, cooking demonstrations, hikes, etc. that your scout might find interesting and fun.

For a summary of online merit badges currently offered please visit the Atlanta Area Council Website.  At the bottom of this web page, other BSA Councils offering online merit badges are listed as well. These online classes are currently open to all BSA Scouts. Should you find other Councils (not listed by AAC) offering online merit badge classes, please check to ensure they allow Scouts outside of that particular Council to participate. Also, please understand how a Blue Card will be issued since these counselors may be located around the country.

For a summary of in-person merit badges currently offered please visit the AAC Merit Badge page.
