New Scout Visitation Meeting Oct 14
- Chad Burbrink (New Scouts)
At Troop 143, we believe that scouting is more than just a weekend activity – it’s a lifelong adventure. Our troop is dedicated to shaping tomorrow’s leaders through outdoor exploration, hands-on learning, and strong community bonds.
Experience the thrill of the great outdoors! From local camping trips to the epic Scouting High Adventures like Philmont Scout Ranch, Sea Base, and Northern Tier, Troop 143 offers opportunities to explore some of the most breathtaking wilderness areas in the country. Whether it’s hiking the rugged peaks of Philmont, sailing the crystal-clear waters of the Florida Keys at Sea Base, or canoeing through the pristine lakes of Northern Tier, you’ll create memories that will last a lifetime.
Scouting teaches valuable leadership skills that will stay with you forever. Through merit badges, rank advancement, and troop leadership positions, you’ll gain confidence, responsibility, and teamwork. Troop 143 encourages every scout to take on leadership roles and shape their own scouting experience.
•Strong Community: Troop 143 is more than just a troop – we’re a family. Our members support and encourage one another as we work together to achieve our goals. Lifelong friendships are formed through shared experiences, adventures, and challenges.
•Service to Others: Giving back to the community is a cornerstone of scouting. Through regular service projects and community outreach, our scouts make a positive impact on the world around them, living out the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
•Weekly Meetings: Join us every Monday at 7PM for troop meetings packed with activities, skill-building, and planning our next big adventure.
•Monthly Campouts: Escape into the wild with our monthly campouts, where you’ll practice your outdoor skills, enjoy campfire stories, and connect with nature. Every outing is an opportunity to learn something new while having fun with friends.
•Scouting High Adventures: For those seeking even greater challenges, Troop 143 participates in the BSA High Adventure programs. Imagine trekking the legendary backcountry of Philmont Scout Ranch, navigating sea vessels and snorkeling in tropical waters at Sea Base, or paddling through the serene wilderness of the Northern Tier. These unique opportunities push your limits and immerse you in some of the most stunning and remote locations in North America.
•Special Events: Participate in exciting events like jamborees, merit badge workshops, and high-adventure trips to some of the country’s most iconic destinations. These events help scouts build skills and friendships while earning recognition for their achievements.
Troop 143 is open to boys ages 11-17 who feel they are ready. Whether you’re new to scouting or have some experience, you’ll find a welcoming place in our troop.
We start recruiting in August and our first major event for cub scouts looking to join is the Webelo Invitational in November. Â By March, the transition from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts happens and we start new members in March.
