$60Caving at Cumberland Caverns
We invite you to discover Cumberland Caverns!
With more than 32 miles of caves and underground passageways, incredible underground rock formations, beautiful underground waterfalls, gleaming pools, there is plenty of fun and adventure for everyone!
Trip Itinerary:
- Depart JCUMC Saturday morning – 8/24 (arrive by 8:30 am, depart the church by 9:00 am) FULL CLASS A uniform, eat before you arrive
- Picnic Lunch near Chickamauga – prep and eat in patrols
- Hike in Chickamauga Battlefield
- Pre-dinner snack outside Cumberland Caverns
- Walking Tour & Adventure Tour in the cave!!
- Evening food at snack bar (all scouts should bring $10 for the snack bar)
- Sleeping in the cave
- Breakfast in the cave
- Arrival back at JCUMC parking lot around 1:00 pm Sunday, Aug 25th
What You Will Need:
- Please wear full sleeves shirt & pants along with lace up shoes to ensure that you are protected while crawling through tight and narrow spaces. These should be an old set of clothes that you would like to throw away as they will get dirty!
- You can bring knee pads and gloves are recommend (especially for adults!).
- All explorers are required to wear lace up close toed shoes or boots. NO SANDALS OR FLIP-FLOPS ALLOWED. This is a troop policy and a cave policy.
- Tents are not needed. Please bring tarp, sleeping pad, sleeping bag and blankets. It will be around 50 degrees in the cave.
- Full Nalgene bottle for the Chickamauga hike
- Waiver forms for all scouts and adults – will be on the back table
